We notice that many of our patients are very limber. We also see that people who report being very stiff and find it difficult to relax their muscles still have very flexible joints. Little is still known about this in science. In 2018, the initiative was taken by the International Pelvic Pain Society to start researching this. Initially, we will look at what is known in the literature about flexible joints and pain in the pelvic region. If more is known about it we will mention it here.
Complaints that these people often have are:
- difficulty standing for long periods
- difficulty standing on one leg
- difficulty strolling
- tense pelvic floor muscles that do not respond well to relaxation exercises
- pain in lower back and pelvis
- pain with intercourse
