We can do this for you:
- Listening carefully to your story.
- Examining everything related to your symptoms.
- Diagnose.
- Explain to you (in most cases) how the symptoms arose.
- If necessary, we will refer you to other health care providers for additional testing or treatment.
The above comes together in the Diagnostic Consultation. You will then spend three to four hours with us. Read more about it here
As part of the Diagnostic Consultation, we will establish with you a treatment plan . Treatment consists of one or more of the options listed here. For these treatments, you can come to us. If you live further away, the F-active All-in-One Program or the F-active Immersion Clinic may be of interest to you. We can also refer you to a practitioner in your area.
Good to know: we will teach you exercises so that you can practice on your own at home. These exercises are an important part of treatment.
And: we collaborate with doctors and other healthcare providers; we have a large (inter)national network.

Reference
You do not need a referral to visit our clinic. Because our care is complementary to the care of your own doctor or practitioner(s), we recommend that you tell your practitioners that you are going to F-act Pelvic Pain Clinic. In doing so, you can ask directly that your doctor/ practitioner give you your medical records. Your doctor/ practitioner can also send the file to us. If you wish, we will contact your doctor/ practitioner(s).

Diagnostic consultation: listening, asking, examining
Ultrasound
During the examination, we often use ultrasound. You may be familiar with this from the pregnancy ultrasound. With this device, we can show you how your muscles work. You can then see the difference when your muscles are tensed and when they are relaxed. You can also see what happens to organs such as the bladder and rectum when muscles are tightened or relaxed. With ultrasound, we can look at the muscles in the pelvic floor, as well as the abdominal and back muscles, or the diaphragm.
MAPLe
We use an ultrasound and sometimes we use the MAPLe; this device goes one step further than the ultrasound. The MAPLe gives us more details. For example, whether muscles on the left and right are different, whether tension is present on the front or back, superficial or deep.
We can use the MAPLe in the physical examination. We also use the device in treatment; it can help return muscle function to normal. The device can also deliver small amounts of electricity in a very targeted way. This helps with pain relief or targeted muscle activation.
Good to know: a personal measuring part (probe) is required to use the MAPLe. This is used internally. This probe is available from us for 65.00 euros. The price of this is not yet included in the diagnostic consultation. If you already have a probe, please bring it with you for the examination. This can also be another probe.
The scientific rationale for the MAPLe can be found here.
Treatment Plan
Which treatment do you want?
Your active role in the treatment of your symptoms begins with your choice of treatment. Treatment can take place at our clinic, or at the doctor or practitioner where you were previously. Good to know: we cooperate with many doctors, pelvic physiotherapists and psychologists. We can refer you to them.
In many cases, we personally contact the practitioner to whom we refer you to explain the treatment plan. We remain present in the background and help further if treatment stagnates. If you have any questions, please call us.
Possible treatments
As part of the Diagnostic Consult ation, we will discuss the treatment plan with you. In the treatment you can do a lot yourself. We will teach you what you can do and how.
All possible treatments can be found here.

Intake conversation
To see if a consultation and possible treatments can be of value to you, we can first schedule an intake meeting with you. This can be done at the clinic, by phone or in the form of a Zoom meeting. A consultation usually lasts an hour and a half and costs 250 Euros, including preparation and possibly study of your medical file. These costs will be deducted from any subsequent course.
Diagnostic consultation
The diagnostic consultation as described on this website, including questionnaire, study of your medical file, the extensive questioning, ultrasound, comprehensive examination and report, costs 995 euros.
Targeted examination
This examination is performed at the request of a physician or colleague with a focused research question, for example, "Is there pudendus neuralgia in this patient?" The cost is 300 euros for one hour. This includes preparation time and feedback with a report.
Integrated treatment at the F-act Pelvic Pain Clinic
After the diagnostic consultation, you can join us for treatment at the F-act Pelvic Pain Clinic. We provide customized treatment and an individual treatment costs 150 euros per hour. A package of four treatments costs 500 euros, for six treatments it is 750 euros.
F-active All-in-one Program.
We developed this program for patients who come to us from abroad. But many Dutch patients also like this compact program.
It is effective to have the diagnostic consultation followed by individual treatment in our clinic. We treat you, explain your complaint, and we instruct you on how to treat the symptoms yourself. You will learn exercises from us that you can properly and safely do yourself at home.
With patients who have to travel far, we schedule this program on three consecutive days. With patients who do not have to travel as far, we schedule more widely. You may first come for a few hours to learn what you can do on your own. Then you will start working on your own. After a few weeks, we discuss how things are going. If necessary, we can adjust your program.
The F-active All-in-one Program is spread over three days:
Day 1: Diagnostic consultation (4 hours).
Day 2: 4 hours of individual treatment and instruction to treat your symptoms yourself.
Day 3: 2 hours of individual treatment and instruction to treat your symptoms yourself.
The cost for this total package is 1650 euros.
Additional hours for treatment and instruction are possible in consultation and as needed. The cost of this is 150 euros per hour.
F-active Immersion Clinic
This program is similar to the F-active All-in-one Program, but offers you the combination of individual treatment and group treatment. In one week, you will receive the diagnostic consultation and treatment that is best for you. We will look at your personal situation and discuss your options with you. We treat you, explain your complaint and instruct you on how to treat the symptoms yourself. You will learn exercises from us that you can do at home yourself in a good and safe way.
In group therapy, the emphasis is on explanation, lifestyle advice, learning the routine for the self-help program and exchanging experiences. Because the groups are very small (four people), there is plenty of space and attention for everyone.
